Easy Pancake Recipes to Suit Everyone
Butter up the family with these delicious recipes to suit everyone – from dairy-free pancakes and egg-free pancakes to a delicious banana pancake recipe. Whether you’re trying out a new diet or you suffer with food allergies and intolerances, discover our favourite alternative pancake recipes below.
Ingredients
- 130g plain flour
- 1 large egg
- 300ml of almond or coconut milk (or your favourite dairy-free alternative)
- 1tbsp sugar
- 1/2tsp salt
- 1tsp avocado or canola oil – with extra to fry

Method
- Sift together the flour, sugar and salt – forming a well in the centre of the bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the egg, milk and oil.
- Pour the wet mixture into the centre of the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
Top tip: Don’t over-mix your batter as you may end up with a chewier texture.
- Lightly coat your frying pan with oil and put on a medium heat. Once hot, add a ladle-full of batter.
- When bubbles form on the top of the pancake, flip it over. Cook until golden brown on each side.
Ingredients
- 150g gluten-free flour
- 1 large egg
- 275ml milk
- 1tsp sugar
- Oil or butter, for frying

Method
- Mix your flour and sugar in a bowl, leaving a well in the middle.
- Crack the egg into the hole and add a third of the milk.
- Whisk the mixture together to make a paste, and then add another third of the milk – gradually adding in the rest of it once the mixture is lump free.
Top tip:Â Leave your mixture to rest for around 30 minutes to let it get a little thicker. Just give it a final stir before using it.
- Heat a non-stick pan and coat with a light layer of oil. Once hot, add your preferred amount of batter to the pan to cook.
- Once bubbles start to form, flip your gluten-free pancake.
- Cook until golden brown on each side.

- 2tsp sugar
- 1tsp baking powder
- 1tbsp vanilla extract
- 400ml of your favourite plant-based milk
- Vegetable oil, for frying

Method
- Whisk together the dry ingredients and the vanilla extract in a bowl – slowly stirring in the milk until you reach a smooth consistency.
- Cook over a medium heat in a non-stick pan with a splash of vegetable oil.
- Flip when bubbles appear on the surface and then cook the other side until golden brown!

- 2 mashed bananas – make sure they’re over-ripe!
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/2tsp baking powder
- 1/2tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Oil or butter, for frying
Method
- Mash 2 bananas with a fork in a bowl.
- Mix in the eggs, baking powder and cinnamon.
- Heat a non-stick pan and lightly coat in oil or melted butter and spoon in some of the batter.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
