Autumnal Apple Pie
Halloween time
What you'll need:
- 1Kg Royal Gala Apples (Sliced)
- 150g Caster Sugar
- 50g Cinnamon Powder
- 1 Sheet Ready Roll Shortcrust Pastry
- 1 Egg (Beaten)
Method:
- Coat sliced apples in caster sugar & cinnamon
- Cut sheet of pastry in half, one section for the base and the other, the topping.
- Fit one half of the sheet of pastry into the base of a pie dish. In one half of the pastry sheet, carve out a spooky pumpkin face for the topping.
- Layer apples around the base of the pie dish and cover with the carved out half of pastry for the topping.
- Brush topping with egg before putting in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes, or until the pie crust is golden brown.
- Serve with custard
