A simple yet delicious way to enjoy Royal Gala apples, this recipe is perfect for a light summer dessert or a sweet breakfast topping. Serve with yogurt, ice cream, or granola for an extra treat!

What you'll need:

  • 4 Royal Gala apples, cored and sliced
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (to keep apples fresh and bright)
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • A handful of chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the apples – Core and slice the apples into wedges. Toss them in a bowl with lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  3. Bake – Place the apples in a baking dish, drizzle with melted butter, and sprinkle with nuts if using.
  4. Roast for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until soft and caramelized.
  5. Serve warm with yogurt, ice cream, or on top of porridge for a delicious twist.
